More info

About Liz Taylor in Memoriam "We have just lost a Hollywood legend but more important is that we have lost an exceptional human being" said Elton John at a concert in Pennsylvania. At her own request the actress Elizabeth Taylor, who died of cardiac insufficiency on March 23, 2011, was buried very diva-like in the socialite cemetery Forest Lawn in Los Angeles, close to her friend Michael Jackson. Her career started in this city, in the MGM Studios. Almost 70 years before, at the age of ten, she acted in the film “Lassie” and became a celebrity. Very soon she aquired the image of „the girl next door“.

Liz Taylor wasn’t in the headlines only due to her performances, incidentally without ever having taken any formal drama lessons, but also because of her eight marriages in all. Also her great dedication to the struggle against AIDS remains unforgotten. Therefore, in1993 she even received an “honouring” Oscar which was her third all in all. In the year 2003 she retired from the entertainment business.

About Hollywood Legends.

Despite obscurity and lack of funds, Bruno Bernard (1912-1987) set up his first darkroom in the basement of his Hollywood apartment in 1940. Shortly thereafter, he moved his studio to the famous Sunset Strip. “No one knew the name Bernard, but they all knew Hollywood“, and hence the optical trademark signature Bernard of Hollywood, which ensured the image of glamour visually for decades, was created.

Bruno Bernard was considered as “The king of Hollywood glamour” and Marilyn Monroe’s discoverer. In 1984 Bernard was the first still photographer to be honoured with an Oscar at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
